I beg your pardon!!

This is a giggle. I'm going to write that again before I throw the laptop out the window. This is a giggle.

I do a few reviews on Amazon, my most voted-for review being one I did for Tim Butcher's excellent book, Blood River - on the book's Amazon page it is still top of the pile in a list of 110 cutomer reviews.

When I write a review, I sign off using my Amazon profile, and as it's a bit out of date now, I've just been trying to update it. Currently it reads as follows:

"Amazon reviews:

On the basis that I may have got it wrong, unless I feel particularly strongly I tend to post book reviews only if I can give 4 or 5 stars.

I write full-time and live in a cabin (http://www.thebluecabin.com/) on an otherwise uninhabited island in Strangford Lough, N.Ireland with my wife Lynn, who is a professional artist (http://www.lynnmcgregor.co.uk/).

The cabin has boat-only access, no mains electricity, an eccentric water supply, a woodburner and no insulation - so island living has been something of a learning curve..

'The Blue Cabin' chronicles our first year on Islandmore: www.thebluecabin.com

Off and on, I maintain a blog at http://www.thebluecabin.blogspot/.com

Mainly because my blog is a bit more than 'off and on' these days, I wanted to update my profile to read:

"Amazon reviews:

I live in a cabin (http://www.thebluecabin.com/) on an otherwise uninhabited island in Strangford Lough with my wife Lynn, who is a professional artist (http://www.lynnmcgregor.co.uk/).

I have written books and articles about island life and am currently working on a novel.

The Blue Cabin chronicles our first year on Islandmore: http://www.thebluecabin.com/ An illustrated follow-up, Still On The Sound was published by Blackstaff Press in 2009.

I maintain a blog about island life (among other things) at http://www.thebluecabin.blogspot.com/"

However. When I try to upload the new version, I get this message from Amazon:

Profanity? I've been through the text line by line, and I can't figure out which particular words have offended Amazon's tender sensibilities. "Blue" perhaps? I suppose "blue" has other connotations but I've never been picked up on it before, even by the very proper folks at Amazon. What about "I may have got it..", or perhaps "..I feel particularly strongly.."? I don't think so. "Curve"? Surely not.

I'm going to dash off a quick email to Amazon (yes it is possible, in fact as I recall they have a very helpful Customer Services department - you just have to devote some time to picking through the Help section until you find the link). I'll let you know how I get on.

If you're interested, all my Amazon reviews are here.
