Water water everywhere

Salt water, that is.

Sometime after 1am this morning, the cabin's water supply froze; with, as Sandy Stone would say, the resultant consequence that there has been a considerable change in our lifestyles.

The wood burner in the living room, which has a back boiler, cannot be allowed to get too hot, so unfortunately neither can we; toilet flushes are by seawater; we have become morbidly obsessed with the weather forecast, in particular the likelihood of a thaw (sadly there is none, at least until after Christmas); and until tomorrow, when we get some bottles to the island, snow will be the only source of drinking water.
