Jim Hunsdale

Jim and Cathleen Hunsdale

Today we said goodbye to a stalwart of the Strangford Lough community and a good friend of the family, Jim Hunsdale: a character and a gentleman – and a seaman through and through. His son, Jim Jnr. (always 'Young Jim' to this family), wrote a few tender and poignant lines of poetry for the service of thanksgiving, which ended with these words:

'Smell the roses... share the love and wear each day like a fine silk glove.'

His father did just that all his life, and I'm sure we could all do worse than follow his example.
