1000 miles uphill..

The day before yesterday a very dear friend of ours set off with what should have been three friends, to cycle 1000 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats for Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Like me, Katy felt that doing it this way round would mean cycling uphill all the way, but she was out-voted.

It says on the sign, '874 Miles' but assuming they make John O'Groat's in 14 days time, the mileometer will read over 1000 miles. A challenge for anyone, I would say, but there's another factor (I asked Katy if I could mention this, because she wouldn't make anything of it herself, and she said, 'Oh yes, brave Katy and all that jazz!): she suffers from CF herself, which can but add to the challenge.

I mentioned that there were to have been four. Sadly, Rosie managed to break her wrist on Day 0, so it's just Joss, Camillo and Katy. There is more on their blog, and some pics including one of Rosie and her cast. Very disappointing, and all I could come up with in the way of an upside was that it saves the bother of cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats.

If you are so minded, you can support them by making a donation to Cystic Fibrosis Trust on the Just Giving website: www.justgiving.com/CFbikeride
