Seal-spotting

As this is probably the last day we can expect to enjoy the benefits of that massive high over the British Isles, we packed a picnic and took our visitors to a neighbouring island for lunch, a walk and some seal-spotting on the way back.

These are common seals, which pup in mid-summer - daddy seal, mummy seal and baby seal are not hard to distinguish.. We always try to stay just far enough away to persuade them not to disturb themselves and make for the water. There are around 150 common, and 200 grey seals in Strangford Lough.
