1000 Miles For Matt

On 14th August my nephew Jamie will be setting off with eight pals to cycle 1000 miles in memory of their friend Matthew Elvidge, who took his own life after a short period of depression in September 2009 - a bolt from the blue to his friends, who had no idea. The guys have built a site at which gives the route, the background (including a moving piece about Matthew at ); and details of The Matthew Elvidge Trust, which has been set up with the aim of increasing awareness of the implications and risks of depression in young people.

There is a Virgin Money Giving link on the site. If you think it's a worthwhile cause, please feel free to give - it's all very streamlined and can be anonymous or otherwise as you wish.
