Edward Hopper

'Lighthouse at Two Lights'
Edward Hopper (1882-1967)
'Lighthouse at Two Lights' is my favourite Edward Hopper painting, and I suppose one of his best known. To me it says, simply, 'New England'.

Today, we made good progress on painting the cabin - it's a little hard to see from the photograph, but the only part of the front wall still to do is the section to the right of the front door. Hopper once said of his work: 'Maybe I am not very human - what I wanted to do was to paint sunlight on the side of a house'.
