Precarious larder

The geese who started patrolling the sound in search of better feeding ten days ago, have homed in on the only promising source - the weed-covered lower sections of the jetty which have become too weak to use over the last two winters and are due to be replaced. It's quite a big job and I can't say I'm looking forward to it, but the materials have been there for ages and it's time to stop procrastinating. If I promise here to get to it by early summer, hopefully I'll box myself in...
Shame for the geese but needs must - the jetty is our umbilical, and island life would be tricky without it, to say the least.
