Walter

I

This very handsome creature turned up on the island this morning. Lynn came out onto the timber deck outside her studio and there he was; with Eddie, dear love him, peering at him from under the bottom rail of the fence. Poor Eddie - we have tried to coax the hunting instinct out of him (that includes mice, small birds and even butterflys and beetles), which may seem unnatural, but at least it preserves the island's growing reputation as a haven for waifs and strays, and I have to say that with Eddie's disposition it wasn't hard..

Stray racing pigeons stop off at the cabin quite frequently. We feed them, water them and keep an eye, and after a day or two they take to the air and circle a few times before heading home. I'm sure this one will be no different, but I'll keep you posted.
