I'm laughing because after our conversation about Harper Lee, who should crop up but Gatsby, and I talked about Gatsby in my book too - I won't go on about it here but I'll pop over to your own blog when I get a minute. Talking of lakes in Minnesota, do you read Garrison Keillour? He's a favourite of mine and in fact I reviewed Pontoon on Amazon.co.uk a while ago because I enjoyed it so much. The world's getting smaller by the minute! The island was Star Island in the middle of Cass Lake, Minnesota. I remember looking across the lake and seeing a green light at the end of a dock and thinking about Jay Gatsby buying his home just so that he could see the light at the end of Daisy's dock. Funny how nature makes you think of literature and literature makes you think of nature.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17693598787241469220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8627999390159102145.post-44804112466756250482010-02-15T09:49:26.732+00:002010-02-15T09:49:26.732+00:00Thanks, aslways feel a bit like Scout Finch at boo...Thanks, aslways feel a bit like Scout Finch at book events: 'I can stand anything but a bunch of people looking at me.'
